The magical cave & Jack’s stone

I love writing children's stories and rather than keeping them lying in my notes, I decided to post them :). So here is a small story about a magical cave and Jacky’s stone. I hope you cherish reading it.

Jacky was a small mouse staying near the seashore surrounded by rocky mountains. One day in search of food Jacky found a magical cave full of food he ate as much as possible and slept and rested and when he was all done and ready to head back home. He found the cave entrance was filled with water. No, we’re to go, he was frightened and suddenly the cozy little cave turned into a daunting nightmare. He struggled and searched for a way out. His heart was paunching with fear. He cried for help but no one could hear his cry against the sound of the splashing waves. The little mice fell asleep. When he woke up the water level had gone down so he hurried to the entrance. It was still blocked but he realised the water was moving back inch by inch. He felt hope rushing and his heart was bouncing with happiness. Finally, the entrance was opened and the water moved back. He rushed through the cave-like a jet and didn’t look back. Days passed by and he didn’t even go back to that region of the shore. After weeks he couldn’t find any food and thought of the cave. He went looking and worriedly looked at the cave. The cave was filled with water. He sat there and saw that water filled the cave entrance and emptied it every couple of hours. He was quite fascinated and tracked this phenomenon on a stone nearby. He created a schedule of when it was safe to enter the cave and how long he can stay. He kept on learning and making the marking on the stone nearby. Decades have passed now and the mice have grown old. He calls the cave the magical cave. He shares his learning with the next generations of mice. The stone with the carving is known as Jacky's stone. All the mice use it to know when to enter the cave and the time of how long they can stay inside, in which weather, and at what time of the day. Jacky has grown old and is happy he found the magical cave that keeps on refilling with food.
