The Magic of Inspiration.

And how it can empower lives.

I believe that on this Friday morning, wrapped in a fluffy robe, consuming a warm cup of lady Grey tea, that I have spotted the elusive creature called Inspiration.

Inspiration has long been sought after, people seek it out of desire and greed, for Inspiration has been credited for some of the most timeless artworks and most brilliant ideas. Thanks to Inspiration some of us have made our millions and secured our place in history.

Those that chase Inspiration seldom do it selflessly. They want something in return for being touched by this creature, which in itself should be a blessing that is nourished and shared. Not coveted like money or power.

People have searched for Inspiration through biographies and histories of nations, inventions, and art, desperate to find where this creature dwells. Many believe it lives in the realm of chaos and to reach this underworld one must live intoxicated in sorrow, that only by touching oblivion will you be kissed by the angel of Inspiration.

What a morbid and cruel concept we share, that you must sacrifice or hunt this ethereal creature. Maybe this is what is wrong with society, or perhaps this is the human condition, in which we have so aptly named this sickness.

But today I have spotted Inspiration. To my surprise, Inspiration is not the bejewelled, gold plated, magnificent creature I had imagined, for what other tangible thing could drive seemingly sane people so mad?

Inspiration came knocking on my door for they had heard that I had given something to someone that had touched their soul and in turn, my selfless action had been returned to me. But it was more potent now, like supercharged electrons and instead of hoarding this beautiful creation, I accepted the challenge to see if I can make this energy even more dynamic, not only by passing it back to the restless soul it has revived but to share it with all of you so that you can give it to someone who needs it more.

Doing something you love for the sake of joy instead of reward is what makes us all masters of our art, but art like many things can never be mastered, but it is in the pursuit of perfection that we find magic. The magic that lives through every word and kind gesture that we share is far more powerful magic than any lone sorcerer can conjure.
