I don’t want to be a dog, I don’t want to be a cat, In my next life, I want to be a bird, Flying above your head, Catch me if you can.

I will fly to the skies, Teasing you, join me if you can, For now, I want to be Down the rabbit hole, I want to be Alice in wonderland.

I go down the magic land, Looking at the taps of gold, Waterfalls colored and sparkling, Losing my key, Playing with the butterflies and bees.

Berries to find and eat, Playing with the squirrels, Don’t miss the colorful flowers, With unopened boxes of goodies, They are all for me I know, I sing and dance with joy.

I go into the room full of jewels, Dazzling and shining in my eyes, I am drowsy, I want to sleep, I am hungry, I want to go back, For I have had my fill of Alice, I want to be myself…

Why do I want to be Alice In Wonderland?

Very often in my sleep, I want to be different, I want to go to the magical world. It makes me creative and innovative.

As a child, I read many books. It was when I read Lewis Carrolls Alice In Wonderland that I was fascinated with a little girl going down the rabbit hole and enjoying herself. She has many adventures there. It felt so colorful.

The children’s books described it as very magical where Alice wanders around the place which is a beautiful garden. She eats fresh fruits and finds many goodies. She plays with strange creatures.

She sees a palace with gold fountains and taps. The crockery was made of gold and there are servers serving food everywhere.

There were many many people around and horses and sentries to protect the royal palace.

This was then as a child but it left an imprint in my mind. I dream and find it beautiful.

I lose my key and stay there. I pray to God to take me back. In my dreams, the fairy comes and holds my hand and I am back. I am comfortably sleeping in my bed very relaxed and comfortable.

To wrap up

We must have ways in our life to relax our minds, make us think, innovate and be creative. In the humdrum of life, we forget our childlike nature.

Dreams of what I could be or want to be in my life always take us away to a world of fantasy and make us fully enjoy life.

The dreamland where I often wonder about the beauty of the imaginative world is Alice in Wonderland. It rubs magic on me and makes me feel refreshed, happy, and creative. It brings back my inner child to spread love and joy to others.

Thank you Dr. Gabriella Korosi for taking me to my childhood memories and my dreams of being Alice In Wonderland with your fun prompt.
