The Madness of Bad Love With a Narcissist
A daily drabble challenge
Random word: Dollars

“Why did you tell my brother lies about me?”
She had never seen him this livid before and that was saying something.
Forget remorse or an apology, she was terrified he was going to hurt her for tarnishing his perfect self-image.
He grabbed a heavy dining room chair and smashed it to pieces. Then he punched a hole in the sheetrock all the while yelling at her.
She was frozen with fear.
An hour later, a handyman was summoned explaining that a squirrel had done it. The handyman was skeptical but didn’t question because he was getting 500 dollars.
Beware of confronting a narcissist; their inflated self-image triggers aggression. When accused, they threaten, and lie to protect their reputation, causing intense narcissistic rage.
