Insights into life in Norway

Øivind H. Solheim made his debut as a writer in 1978 with a novel in Norwegian, Stupet (the Precipice). Later he has published three more novels and a collection of poems in Norwegian and two novels in English.

A contemporary novel

In his latest novel, the contemporary novel We Never Talked About Love (work title: The Love We Had, The Happiest Town in the World), Solheim depicts the conditions of love between woman and man in our time. He tells a story about a woman who is drawn between two men who from different starting points try to gain power over the main character. The main character feels neglected. She lives in a relationship where she struggles with the basics, and she feels that life should not be like that.

Most of the 50 chapters of the novel We Never Talked About Love were in 2021 published chapter by chapter on Medium in the publication ILLUMINATION Book Chapters. Chapters are still available for readers through this link:
