The Lighthouse
The darkness surrounds me It grips my heart It grabs at my throat It paralyzes me I feel anxious and alone
Frigid, cold waves Of fear and panic attack me Pushing and pulling me They disorient me I begin to lose my way
I fight to see through the haze I feel exhaustion set in I feel battered and bruised From the never-ending waves That never stop their assault All hope fade As the storm rages on
In the distance My weary eyes see a dim light My heart begins to pound in my chest A flicker of hope Renews my will to fight To keep moving forward
As I grow closer It beckons to me Like a glorious, beautiful lover Drawing me to her With its brilliant ribbons of light
As the light grows stronger It surrounds me In its warmth and radiance It guides me Through the destruction of the storm Past life’s jagged rocks Into a harbour of safety and peace
