These individuals are not only spreading misinformation and harassing healthcare workers but also resorting to racism and bribery. The author, a vaccinated Alberta native, criticizes the misinformed anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers for their lack of respect for healthcare professionals and their reliance on fake news, such as the effectiveness of Ivermectin against COVID-19. The author also points out the tireless work of healthcare staff and the ethical dilemmas faced by family doctors when dealing with patients who lie about vaccine allergies. The article calls for vaccination, fact-checking, and respect for healthcare workers to help combat the pandemic and alleviate the pressure on hospitals.

The other day, I was reading a news article online that got me extremely angry. It is about the lengths that people will go to avoid getting vaccinated. This article talked about stupid and misinformed patients (Some healthy and some have problems like smoking or diabetes) going into their family doctor’s office and asking for a note for a Covid-19 exemption. It is to get into businesses that ask them for an Alberta, Canada version of a Vaccine Passport (I have one). The exemption is ONLY for people who have allergies to the ingredients in the vaccine, NOT for people who want to avoid getting a jab in the arm. Of course, these doctors are only doing their job and decline to give these idiots a note — otherwise, a big fat NO.

The worst part of this article is that these patients end up being rude and racist. One actually bribed their doctor for $200. Here is the piece I am talking about: ‘It’s really scary’: Alberta physicians face more aggressive, misinformed patients | CBC News.

I was born and raised in Alberta, and I am one of the millions of people that got vaccinated. I have no problem with needles. I don’t understand why someone would become rude and racist to avoid getting vaccinated.

At this moment, the health care system in Alberta, Canada, is in a crisis because the hospitals here don’t have enough beds. Right now, we have temporary help from other Canadian provinces with beds and more staff to keep up with the demands. Even the military has stepped in to help all the hospitals here.

How did Alberta get to this point? First, everyone here blames Premier Jason Kenny for not putting in mandatory restrictions in the province. However, I bet you that some people working for Premier Kenny also do not want to get vaccinated. Not to mention that when I came back to Alberta from another province a year ago, I heard about the Premier wanting to cut hospital funding and also not wanting the nurses union to get a higher paycheck.

I also do blame these misinformed people who don’t want to get vaccinated. I know that they do not believe in anything that the politicians, health experts, and traditional media say. Instead, they would read the fake news coming from social media and not learn to check their facts before posting or sharing it.

I used to work in radio. I know that every reporter I have spoken to there, checks their facts before putting their pieces on the air. There were a few times I have gotten calls from people saying that the information was wrong, which is rare.

Also, these misinformed idiots do not know how hard these doctors and nurses work. I know that most of you work eight hours a day. Imagine working 16, 18, or even 24 hours a day and for 10 or 20 years. That’s how long these health professionals in hospitals work EVERY DAY. Compare that to your eight hours a day shifts. And now, these first responders are so tired and want to quit their job because some people in North America do not want follow government protocol.

The family doctors are saying no to these idiots for ethical reasons. Of course, these physicians don’t want to lose their jobs or licenses because a patient fibbed about their health. I mean, why would anyone lie?

Besides, if you say to a family physician in Canada that you might be allergic to any ingredient in the vaccine, they would send it to an Allergist to do some tests. You go, and then that doctor finds out that you are not allergic to anything. Trust me, that’s how it works.

There is more in the news about misinformed Albertans refusing to be vaccinated. For example, they were bullying a local restaurant, online and in person, because they signed up for the Restrictions Exemptions Program. There are more examples of these stupid people doing things that make them look bratty to the rest of the world. These people are not just anti-vaxxers but also anti-maskers. They are making excuses, like their religious faiths, as a reason not to do either. It has nothing to do with religion or whatever other excuse that they have. These are also the same people that believed that the horse tranquilizer, Ivermectin, will help prevent or treat Covid-19. Now that’s fake news.

I know that many nice and friendly Albertans out there did their part and got vaccinated. I do congratulate them.

For those that don’t want to get vaccinated, please don’t go to extremes to avoid it. PLEASE stay at home and don’t go out anywhere. But, if you do, please first get vaccinated. I know that this is a catch-22 world out there. So, do your part to stop the spread of Covid-19, learn to check your facts online before posting anything, and respect the hard-working hospital staff.
