YEAR END REFLECTIONS

The Last Time

What if everything just ended?

Photo by Mikael Cho on Unsplash

Will today be the last time I read a great book plant a seed ride a horse drink champagne hug a child stir the pot build a fire make a bed SCUBA dive bake a cake fly a kite write a poem sketch a landscape party with friends iron a napkin solve a puzzle patch my jeans or see your face?

Author’s note: I don’t mean to start the year off with a depressing message, but that’s what I’ve got. I am hopeful for the new year, and I intend to plant flowers and veggies as always. But with climate change essentially being ignored by our leaders, and sabers rattling aggressively around the world, and a raging pandemic that many believe isn’t real or that vaccines can’t help, there are plenty of reasons to be a bit blue.

Meanwhile, let’s rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic and fiddle while Rome burns, and, above all, “Don’t Look Up.”

On a happier note, please join us in our 75-Word Novel or 75-Word Poem challenge!
