The last sips of life

Wild scattered words

The old man sits with a stern glance The house in the sun casts shadows over there The play of peeks and deep remembrance Have the intense taste of a tear

He drags a ragged breath As the day turns its sky into black And strongly drives away a weighty stone A burden that never leaves him alone

And his soul is lost in the breeze While he hides in a whisper her name Between his lips the salty taste of the shame Of a hundred and more choices he never made

Patiently the night watches and waits Whispers to him old worn-out hates Stories of soldiers and waiting ladies Memories of the dearest and loveliest traces

That old man who seems painted on a wall The watered-down look on the world The aroma of pipe and expired wine Turns pages yellowed by time

And his soul is lost in the wind While he hides her name in a sigh Between his lips the sour salty taste Of a hundred and more choices he never had
