Summary

The article discusses the influence of kingdoms and colonization on societal structures, drawing parallels to the biblical concept of man originating from and influencing Earth as a colony in the image of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Abstract

The text explores the historical transition from kingdoms to colonies, noting that rulers would impose their culture and societal norms on conquered or colonized territories, akin to how France and England established their customs and laws in their colonies. This historical pattern is used as an analogy to understand the biblical narrative of humanity's origins, suggesting that just as colonizers reproduced their societal models in new lands, man was sent to Earth from the Kingdom of Heaven to shape it according to heavenly principles. The article implies that societal structures on Earth reflect the unseen kingdom from which man came, and that by examining the societal models we have, we can infer aspects of the heavenly kingdom. It encourages readers to consider their own cultural habits and the origins of their societal norms, inviting them to reflect on the idea that humanity's roots may lie beyond Earth.

  • The author posits that understanding the concept of kingdoms is crucial for grasping the origins of mankind.
  • The article suggests that the way colonizers shaped societies in their image is analogous to how man is believed to have influenced Earth's development based on heavenly origins.

The Kingdom #13

Those of us who were directly introduced to the concept of democracies when we were born, find it difficult to understand the concept of kingdoms, but if we understand it, it will be easier for us to understand the origins of man.

In medieval times, there were not democracies as we experience them today — rather, communities were organized into kingdoms, and these were governed by kings who occupied that position either by heredity or by self-proclamation. Since there were no treaties to delimit the lands of each kingdom, the various kings organized raids to go and conquer other kingdoms and thus extend their powers. After making war and winning, the king himself would return home, but would leave people in the newly conquered kingdom to manage it and settle their culture.

The same thing happened during colonization: the colonizing countries sent representatives to the colonized countries to establish their culture. This has always been a crucial part of the occupation of a new territory. In other words, the people who were sent were well aware that they came from elsewhere, but were sent to that territory to establish their culture. This is why, if you have been colonized by France, and you go to another former French colony, you feel like at home. This is because France has made sure that all its colonies look like it. It is the same, if you have been colonized by England, for example, and you go to another former English colony: you will speak the same language as these people, you will drive with a left-hand drive, you will drink tea 4 times a day 😊, because all the English colonies have been influenced by the people that the kings sent, in order to establish their cultures in their colonies.

Man was sent to influence the earth

We understood in the previous story that man came to earth, which means that he is not from the earth. But so far, we have not talked about where man comes from. If we have talked about the concept of kingdoms above, it is to help us understand a very important concept, which will help us understand the origins of man. If you read the Bible, you will realize that when Jesus came on earth (a sign that He came from somewhere else), He talked a lot about the Kingdom of Heaven, where He came from. This is what happens when you go to a country other than your own. For example, you will often talk to your new friends about your country of origin, your culture, your language, your customs, etc. This is exactly what Jesus was doing: He often talked about where He came from, the kingdom of heaven. In the following story, we will analyze several of Jesus’ sentences about the kingdom of heaven.

We humans don’t talk about the kingdom of heaven here on earth, because we have no memory of this place like Jesus. Personally, I have no memory of my province of birth, because my family moved to another province when I was only one year old. But it is not because I have no memory of this place, that I deny coming from there, when my parents tell me about it. Likewise, it is not because we have no memory of the kingdom of heaven that we deny coming from there when Jesus tells us about it. In my case, there are many facts that corroborate the fact that I really come from the province of origin of my parents, and it is these facts that put me in confidence when they tell me about it. Let’s see then some facts that corroborate the fact that, man comes from the kingdom of heaven, and was sent here on earth, in order to influence it, so that the earth, as a colony, would resemble the kingdom of heaven.

Man comes from the kingdom of heaven

If you study history carefully, you will realize that the different colonizers not only took their cultures to the countries they colonized, but also took their visions of what a society is. In other words, if in the country of the colonizers, a society was represented by a set of cities containing mansions, one of which was reserved for the leader of the city, you will see that, even in the colonized countries, the colonizers took this same concept with them, in order to be able to run the colony properly. This behavior is completely understandable, because you can only reproduce what you have seen, what you have been exposed to.

Since each colonizer had his own way of organizing his society, each colony was given the same social model as its colonizer. In other words, all the countries colonized by France, for example, had a different system of society imposed on them than those colonized by England. What I want us to understand here is that, in order to understand how a colonizer’s society was organized, it was enough to visit one of his colonies, because the same system was implemented there. And I repeat: isn’t it normal to implement what we have seen and experienced? So these colonizers could only implement the system of society of their countries of origin, because it was the only one they themselves had been introduced to, it was the only one they had seen and experienced.

That’s the reason why, until today, we realize that all the countries (if not all of them at least the great majority) that were colonized by France have a rather similar model of society: they speak French, they have a similar school system, a similar way of thinking, and for some it even goes as far as the laws of the country. The same is true for Portuguese-speaking countries, English-speaking countries, etc. These are not just things that belong to history, because these countries are impacted to this day, in their cultures. And if their colonizers brought this model of society to them, it is because it is the one they themselves were introduced to in their countries of origin, as a model of society. So, consciously or unconsciously, they could not bring something they had never seen themselves.

When man came to earth, he found nothing at all, except natural resources, as explained in the previous story. So he had not found a society already in place (since there was no one before him), because he was supposed to create this society by multiplying on the earth (1).

(1) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living creature that move upon the earth.

We may then ask ourselves: “How did man come up with the idea of organizing his society as we know it to this day?” Although our societies today are not exactly like those of ancient times, they are merely improvements on what was done then. If the colonizers could draw inspiration from what they had seen in their countries of origin in order to implement it in their colonies; man from the beginning also drew inspiration from what he had seen in his kingdom of origin in order to implement it here on earth.

We can easily recognize what we have been exposed to, just by analyzing what we are reproducing

To continue with the example we are using in this story, we can say that we could easily recognize the model of society to which a colonizer had been exposed in his country of origin, just by analyzing the one he reproduced in the colony where he was sent. Let’s analyze our society, and see the similarities with the kingdom of heaven. As I said at the beginning of this story, I know that I am from another province than the one I live in, even though I have no recollection of it. I know people who have been there, so they tell me how it was there, and it helps me understand why I do certain things that I do: some of my actions are related to my origins.

In the next story we will see some similarities between the kingdom of heaven and earth. I know that since the past article, what we are seeing now requires that we go slowly so that we can understand it, and that is why I don’t want to write too long stories.

Question of the week: Do you have any habits that are related to where you were born?
