The Key to Day Trading Success

A lot goes into being a successful day trader.

What makes you a successful day trader?

Be it full-time or part-time.

It is the ability to make money without really thinking about it.

I have a family, work a full-time job and run 2 businesses.

In between that I also spend about 5 hours a week playing Zelda on the Switch.

It pains me when people say that playing video games is a productivity killer and that you won’t get anywhere in life by doing so.

I am going to spell out for you the key to my success in day trading and hopefully you can take something from it.

It's how you start the day

I wake up early, hours before anyone else in the house does.

I have a great routine that I stick to. It involves studying, exercise and preparing.

I then spend about 30 minutes in the morning trading forex.

This is part 1 of my day.

Form then I move on to part 2 which is when the house wakes up.

You see the key here is that I have done the work on Sunday. Marking up the charts, reading the news and scrolling X. I know what I am looking for and I can sit patiently and just wait on those setups materializing.

I have no emotion, no desire to place a trade for the sake of placing a trade.

I wait.

The work before

I’ve spent around 400 hours learning about day trading and day trading forex in particular.

This is a lot but for some, not enough.

I have built a solid foundation that allows to go about my day without thinking too much about what's going on the markets.

In the end, I have a unique and basic strategy and I follow it.
