When Lydia’s college roommate asked her if she would help her teach English as a Second Language (ESL), Lydia was speechless.
She never taught before but adored the English language and anything to do with it.
Lydia agreed, and after teaching one class, she was smitten with the students. They were very eager to learn and were some of the sweetest people Lydia had met.
The students brought food from their countries and told everyone what it was like living there. They even sang “Happy Birthday” to Lydia in several languages.
They taught Lydia as much as she taught them.
