The Journey To Happiness

Oh, to go and exit When the time is right — when it’s not too late And ride off of all that’s left, And live without a care. To open my mind to others — to show what I can do; To have clarity and the space to view things in another light. To know I am able to get out. To know I can do it, And live without a care.

To know I am able to get out So that I can do it. I do not believe in giving up. But I believe in my ability to get out.

To go out the door and then be free of the house and its rooms; Out into the world to see what delights; Past bedtime and past curfew. To go out of the house, hotel, apartment, any place that is not yours; To walk on down the street, with some friends or alone or with my own two feet…

Exit is an opportunity to step out and find your own way. It’s turning a new page and leaving what is left behind. Then, finally, you are free from your past, free from the pain of memory, and free of regret. Exit is not for the restless or those who cannot wait to see what comes next in life — it does not go for you if you’re always looking back. Exit is for those who move forward with conviction, certainty about their future, an open mind to all possibilities, a flexible plan that will allow them to get where they want — or even better — to where they need to be.
