The Journal Everyone Needs to Keep

I’ve always loved to write, but I wasn’t always consistent or productive. I remember asking for a diary (complete with tiny key) for Christmas one year, and when I got it, I was so excited. For about two weeks. Then, it was forgotten.

Writing is my comfort food (for thought). When I’m anxious, I make lists. I got a list journal that was fun for a couple weeks before it, too went by the wayside. My mother-in-law and I started a 52 lists journal together for a while. That was fun while it lasted. I looked into dot journals, and that held my attention for at least a couple weeks, maybe even three!

That’s been the way of most journals I’ve started through the years until I began channeling the Archangels. Some people channel verbally and can tape sessions, but I don’t. I ask a question in writing, and I hear the answer as I write it down. Funny thing about channeling … I don’t remember some of the things I channel, I guess because I’m so busy getting it all down on paper and I don’t pay close attention. It all sinks in when I reread whatever I wrote.

I’ve now halfway through my 9th journal of channeled Angel messages. I’ll eventually organize some into a book, and in the meantime, I post them on this platform so others can enjoy them and hopefully, feel the love, joy, peace, and hope they bring to me.

Once I was able to channel my higher self, I started a Soul Journal. That’s where I record things that, in most cases, are personal to me. I doubt anyone else would get much out of them, but just like the Angels’ messages, I don’t retain them while I write them down, so it’s necessary. As you can imagine, I have a ton of journals in my home!

Most of my journals are not necessary for most people, because most people don’t channel. However, the journal that I feel is necessary for anyone pursuing their spiritual path is a journal that specifically records experiences during meditation. If you meditate, and you’re in search of something — meaning, learning, psychic gifts, life purpose, guides — a meditation journal is a must.

Even if your brain is younger than mine and you have a great memory, it’s important to keep a journal for meditation, so you can keep track of dates, visions, messages, thoughts, themes, and patterns. It will serve not only as a record of your sessions, but it will help with clarity later on.

When I first started meditating (before I started channeling), I kept veering off track and thinking about RV’s and traveling. Since that’s never been an interest of mine, I just pushed these thoughts gently aside and focused on my breathing. At night, I felt driven to start looking up RV’s and pricing them, and I couldn’t figure out why. I started to freak out a little bit, thinking someone was sending me signs to sell my home and buy an RV and travel for some reason. That did not sound appealing to me at all!

At the suggestion of a friend, who is also a psychic medium, I looked back at when all these thoughts started, and I figured out they began when I set the intention for guidance in ways to help others. I really wanted to help people, but I didn’t have any idea of how that would work or what it would look like. I was at a loss regarding my path.

I talked to my friend again, and she laughed, suggesting that my guides were trying to give me ideas about how to help others, and traveling was one such suggestion. I told her I didn’t want to sell my home and travel, and I was afraid they’d be mad at me. She laughed again, and told me I’m the one in charge of my life, always, that I didn’t have to do anything I didn’t want to do. I had asked for guidance, and they sent me some. If I chose not to follow it, that was fine.

Not too long after that, I found my connection to the Archangels, and I no longer have to wonder about messages, because if I am confused, I can ask them directly for clarification, but I still keep a meditation journal to this day. I record my thoughts, any physical feelings I experience (sometimes I feel all tingly, and I know someone has joined me for meditation), any themes that seem to recur, colors that I see, etc. Today, I kept seeing scenes from the movie, Titanic, and I have no idea why. That’s a good question to ask the Angels! I also consistently see the colors of blue, green, and yellow. Flashes of memories come through often. Songs sometimes come to mind. I write it all down, if not for clarity then posterity.

Even if you don’t enjoy writing like I do, it’s a very good idea to keep track of all meditation sessions you experience. Include the date, the intention, and any thoughts, feelings, ideas, memories, etc. that come to you. You never know when you may want to look back, remember, or analyze something. If you’re intending to connect with your guides or get guidance about something, it’s even more important. Bits and snippets may not make sense to you at the time you receive them, but when you can look back and put them all together, you may find the answers for which you were looking.

Blessings, everyone!
