I see how well-threaded you’ve made this mirror – the clouds came on thick and dark and heavy –

Musing through Coleridge’s endless fucking sighs – I jest – breathe and stepping back from the obversion– taking in the world through the mouth– left with an epic affection –

Something that makes all the dry cabins meaningless – drought and fire bans caving the summer in – the mourners of this death converse around cold lanterns – propane fires a marginal effect –

Side swept by other constellations – a musing dynamic spreading intellectual electricity –

Waving goodbye to my 30’s – spun dervish form by the brown eyes shining in the west – slinging consciousness close to the waves – a Pacific gaze –

And longing rewrites itself until only stars are left on the paper – image-repertoire alive and well — an expansion at the seams –

Each next alignment another thread – another cast of Hegelian reflection – dialectic and discursive-

Never enough words – so making every glance count towards connecting – and into this bonfire of desire I tried to write

something like this.

Prompt:

Not sure I’ve had you reflect on your ideals of Art, how that impacts your writing. Here, I took a musing on the part of Hegel’s aesthetics where he defines Art (distinct from craft/prefabrication) as that which reflects consciousness back to another conscious: a mirror. Reflective intersubjectivity, where one subject is, contrary to its internalization, actually static. When I write, I believe I am very conscious of my desire to form and draw connections with my imagined reader. I know not all of you have an M.A. in Philosophy, so you don’t need to be this in depth. But think long and hard on your aesthetic sensibilities; track this for us, if you please. Don’t forget to tag me in it!
