The Inspiring And Diverse Professions Of A Parent
33 photos of gratitude for the worst and best moments

The children’s screams pierced her depleted soul as she held the first cup of tea for the day. Her hand jumped and the tea spilled on the floor — on her. Although the burn’s stings were lingering, she was more frustrated with the steaming truth — this was only the beginning of the day — another one.
Being a parent is the most challenging job in the world. Parents are under-appreciated, under-paid, and over-worked. It has been undeservingly custom for their sacrifices, hard work, and the impact of their roles to be taken for granted — not today.
Showing gratitude for a parent’s sacrifices makes all the difference in giving a tired parent momentous energy, a mentally depleted one — inspiration, a cranky one — smiles, and an under-appreciated one — visibility.
First your parents, they give you your life, but then they try to give you their life. — Chuck P

Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…It remembers the little things, long after you have forgotten everything. — Aaron Siskind
Anyone who knows me would tell you how annoying I am with pictures — that doesn’t bother me one bit.
On one unfortunate day, we will move on past this life and no longer be here to guide, hold, and give physical love to our children.
Photographs will give our children comfort as they look back and remember the love — the sacrifices — we gave to them in those moments.
On another bittersweet day, after we have done our best (which sometimes means microwaved meals, a television show, and baths the next day) to support and take care of them, our children will move out and on with their lives.
Photographs will comfort us when we are old — when it has been a while since their last visit and when our memories have faded throughout the years.
I am not a perfect parent. There is no super-humanly way I am an expert at all of the professions below or perform all such duties on a daily basis. Instead, these are moments in time that I value and try my best at.
Following is a photo collection demonstrating the diverse professions as a parent. I bet you’ll relate to some, if not all of them. May they bring you comfort and peace. I hope sharing my photos with you is a strong reminder that other parents worldwide empathize with you.

Gratitude for our hobbies/passions
Unfortunately, when we become parents our interests take the back seat. I encourage you to light your soul’s passion or try something new — don’t forget about you. You are important!
When we make ourselves whole, we have much more to give to the ones we love. Showing our children how we take care of ourselves and pursue our dreams, will show them how to do the same for themselves.

Above all — Gratitude for the lovers

Yesterday was one of those days where I wanted to pull my hair out, slam my head into a wall, scream into a pillow and cry myself to sleep. Have you had one of those days lately?
I thought if I feel so frustrated after seven months of being overburdened by the pandemic, there must be others who are feeling the same way.
So, I wanted to share my gratitude and appreciation for everything you are and all you do. Like I said before, I don’t do all of the above all the time or am I perfect at them. I know we all try our best and are facing our own difficulties during this time.
I know you are tired and maybe feeling alone, frustrated, and angry at times. However, I wanted to remind you that what you do as a parent is of the utmost importance. You are appreciated. You are valued.
Reinvigorate your strength, patience, kindness, empathy, and love — then spread it to everyone around you.
Each day brings new opportunities, allowing you to constantly live with love — be there for others — bring a little light into someone’s day. Be grateful and live each day to the fullest. — Roy T. Bennett
I can relate to those of you who have no village of encouragement — I hope you’ve found it here.
To the parents who have a village, but it isn’t encouraging — I hope you’ve found it here.
To the parents who are appreciated, you could always have more — I hope you’ve found it here.
THANK YOU.

Call To Action
When we take time to celebrate the diversity of how different parents can be, and how we all need to take care of ourselves too, then we really bond together wherever we are in this world.
I sincerely hope you will consider sharing what it’s like for you! It will be wonderful to see your photo journal or a photo of one of your professions as a parent. I also encourage the dialogue between us. This is hard and we should support each other.
