The Inner Child Reflection

Did reflecting on the new year allow you to reminisce about your childhood?

It did for me this year.

Fun, carefree memories of simpler times popped into my head. I hope you take the time to cherish those moments and find ways to incorporate the things that we loved from our childhood into our adulthood.

Maybe, it’s picking up reading a book in your spare time.

Listening to your favorite songs from your youth.

Looking at pictures from your old photo albums.

Don’t lose sight of your childhood and what makes you come alive.

The Inner Child Reflection

Take me back to my time as a care-free child

Mindset of innocence with hair long and wild

Walking in town with allowance money to my favorite candy store

Flexibility and endurance, before the back could get sore

Playing music, appreciating the beat, words and sound

Held captive by reading the story of the book I found

Loved playing with my stuffed animal and figurine toys

Spending quality time with Dad, the simplistic joys

We listened to the TV blaring with excitement of the Sunday football huddles

I remember joyously jumping in the sidewalk’s rain-filled. puddles

Memories are sincerely cherished

Of a childhood that adulthood has perished
