By doing this, many reactionary fans displayed their hatred against him.

The performance showed how a united nation could look like — and who is against it as “Die Welt a German newspaper, brilliantly put it.,”

Garth who? For many Europeans, this name did not ring any bells. He was a man in jeans wearing a country hat, singing a song at the inauguration. But Barth Brooks sold more disks than the Beatles.

He is the most successful country singer.

Shortly after his performance at the Capitol, he hugged not only Barack Obama but also George W. Bush. Brooks is a well-known conservative. Nevertheless, he sang at the inauguration at Barack Obama too.

The choice of a country singer, who often celebrates rednecks in his songs who are typically disdained by the municipal progressives, has to be seen as a masterpiece — a stroke of genius.

Especially if he sings “Amazing Grace.” The song itself was written by a slave trader who had a road to Damascus experience and became a front-row fighter against slavery in 1748.

Many African-American communities use this song, and Barack Obama sang it at the funeral service in Charleston.

Brooks is the best example that the separation in an America consisting of only urban and progressive, and rural and regressive, was never true and will never be true.

Already in 1993, Brooks published a song, “We Shall Be Free.” He is a believing Christian and a representative of a conservative family image.

In the song, he mentioned that only when everyone is free to love who he/she wants everyone can finally be free. It was a musical plea against hatred, racism, homophobia, hunger, houselessness, and religious bigotry.

Additionally, the song did not make it into the top ten of the country charts — it only made it to the twelfth position and position 22 in the Christian songs.

As if to confirm the distortion of reactionary culchie — angry Garth Brooks fans insulted him as a traitor. They even called a strike on his concerts.
