The Impossible Task — The Unbeatable Foe

Bitter winds face my soul

I give it all for my one dream quest, I strive in reaching for my success, I feel every strain to write my best.

I’ll work hard and that is my task, I’ll only choose words that last, I’ll not focus on the distant past.

How long must I work and wait, for my lovely dream to recreate, hoping it will not come too late.

I will look ahead around the bend, for my hard work will never end, until the final moment, I hit send.

This poem came as a writing prompt, while watching the 2-minute song, — — — Man of La Mancha — — — The Impossible Dream: Don Quixote.

The song sung by (Peter O’Toole) is a song of inspiration and unwavering determination and can be heard at the end of the poem.

Listen and feel inspired, as we never tire of spreading our words, among the clouds and singing our songs, like colorful fireworks.

To write the unwritable wrong is a dream that is long.
