Lagos is known for its hustle and bustle. If you’re new to the city, it takes much adjusting to get used to the fast-paced life of Lagos and its environs.
People are constantly on the move to get to their various destinations. Passengers can hardly wait their turn at the bus stops, they dash recklessly for buses giving less regard to the safety of their neighbours in the process.
In Lagos, it seems there is nothing you cannot have. There are different businesses and shops rendering different services. Entertainment, technology, education, politics, tourism, art, and fashion are all packed in this city that doesn’t sleep at night.
Lagos is among the top ten of the world’s fastest-growing cities and urban areas in West Africa. More than half a million people believe that they can make a better life than the one they have now even with an unprepared economy.
If you want a job in Lagos the chances are you’ll have to invent it yourself.
At this point “ Even Nigerians are getting scammed by Nigerians,” What we want, we must provide for ourselves due to unemployment and self-imposed hardship in the country.
Whether that is the best way for a city to survive seems a visionary question. It’s just how things are in the city. It has grown too quickly, too haphazardly, against the backdrop of a wildly inattentive government, to turn itself around.
Half a century ago, 300,000 people lived here. Now, over 20 million do. It is ranked among one the world’s largest cities, and for whatever challenges living here might present, its growth shows no sign of slowing anytime soon.
Lagos is a beautiful city, it has its good and bad occupied in it. The cost of living in Lagos is overwhelming in most areas.
It is the busiest city in West Africa and has the largest market in it. To make a living out of this tough economy, you either create a job or work remotely. Instability in economic growth has discouraged youths over the past decade.
We only hope for a better future.
