POETRY | THE BRAIN IS A NOODLE

The House of Debate

Hours-long discussions into the wee night

Photo by Afif Kusuma on Unsplash

Most couples argue over big things — money, sex, children, the bills Not in my house — We argue over philosophical topics that only intellectuals would understand And when I say argue I don’t mean the shouting and screaming or the tossing about of things No, we debate — long diatribes or a soliloquy (in case the other has stopped listening) Hours-long discussions into the wee night which can cause ear bleeds and sudden silly misunderstandings until I usually decide I’d rather be happy than be right

A poetic response to Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她)’s #TBINWritingPrompt: a silly misunderstanding

I’ve amassed a nice size list of work that leaves me in awe. I used to write appreciation lists, but I no longer have the time. I still keep the list though and it continues to grow. Check it out and maybe you will find a few awe-inspiring stories you’d like to keep too!
