The Homeless Man In The Tent
He is alone on the hillside

Homeless people must find a spot where they can live.
It is not easy being homeless, but there are thousands of people in the United States who are without a home in which to live. They do not have the money for rent or are unable to find space in a homeless shelter. They must find a spot where they can lie down at night and sleep.
One man set up a small tent on a hillside of a canyon area near a city. He is not normally seen by the residents in the area, but they have spotted a red shirt at the entrance to the tent on occasion. He must be young and healthy enough to walk the canyon trails and to bring in supplies. There are no stores close by and no place to beg for food.
Winter is coming, and snow will be falling in the area. How can he survive the cold nights in the canyon? He may have to move away to find better shelter from the elements if that is possible.

Homelessness is such a sad situation in which to live. If families and friends cannot assist them, the homeless may have no choice but to live on the streets or in small tents. They could use assistance.
Although there are many government agencies and nonprofit organizations which are trying to help the homeless, there are still many who are living without shelter and food. They may be able to beg for money or food. They might be living on scraps discarded by other people.
There are homeless nearly everywhere, and it is a massive problem for society. No one should have to live that way, but some people may be forced into it. A lack of money is the major problem, but there are many contributing factors to homelessness. People who have mental illness or substance abuse problems and are homeless have more difficulty escaping from that way of life.
People who are homeless are unlikely to read stories like this, but they are in need of help from those who do read. Maybe we can help in some way.
[Note: It appears that the homeless man in the canyon has found another place to live since snow has started to fall in the area.]
Thank you for reading. Happy New Year! Stay safe and housed.
