Medium Stats

The History of Your Curated-Story on Medium Lost — No Longer Available!

The topics used to show up in Stats, now they don’t

Picture constructed by author, 2020

My article, “A Comprehensive Solution on Abortion vs the Current One-sided Scheme” was curated under 3 different topics: Feminism, Justice, and Equality.

Last week, those three topics appeared with the Stats. Today, they don’t.

Today, Oct 4, this appears when I bring up the detail stats for the story: “Chosen for further distribution.” I haven’t found the topics of distribution anywhere.

I happen to know that it was curated and where because I log every submission in a spreadsheet, along with the tags, links, publication, and curated topics.

If you did not keep such a spreadsheet log, you might not be able to submit your story to a publication like “Illumination-Curated” because you wouldn’t know when and where it was curated.

My other articles used to say, “Not chosen for distribution.” or something like, “Still being processed, hang tight.” Now, they say nothing — entirely blank.

I wonder if this is a temporary bug or a planned change by Medium.

What Medium needs to do is write a story explaining all changes, post it immediately after the changes are installed, and make it the feature story at the top of the page when people open the app for a couple of days.
