The Heart that Holds the Chambers that Contain the Hidden Treasures
Our tree of life
Every night as he falls asleep next to me, he wraps his arms and legs all around me like he’s holding on for dear life. Nuzzles his mouth to my ear. It’s the most needed and safe I’ve ever felt in my life. I wrote this while he was glued to me, murmuring in his sleep.
You’re cradling me in our chambers, Your legs wrapped around mine, Your body pressed against me, So, I write in the dark while we are intertwined. We have melted into one another. Forged in fire. We are a sword.
The steady rise and fall of your chest, The chest that contains the hidden treasure, Treasures of the heart and its chambers. Indiscernible murmurs from your lips. The lips that deliver the greatest gifts. I cling onto each murmur, each word.

The little movements in your limbs, The limbs on my tree of life.
I know you’re dreaming in there. Because you’re running. Always being chased or trying to catch something. Sometimes I wake you because I want to run with you. I try to capture your words for replay, But they often fade away before in comes the next day.
The moment is gone. It wasn’t for me to join. Your run belongs to you. Your feet pull the sheets from the bed. As you run yet again in your head.

Then you must be underwater Because you’re holding your breath — An eternity. I’m afraid you’re drowning. Should I jump in and save you? But then you surface and my heart resumes beating. The heart that contains the hidden treasures Within its chambers while in the silent darkness Of our own sacred chambers.
Forged in fire, we are intertwined like vines, Vines circling the limbs — The limbs of your tree of life.
You look back but I’m ahead, Pulling you forward so we can run together. Let’s go chase this thing down, Plant our trees of life together forever. Share our beating hearts. The hearts with the chambers That contain the hidden treasures. Forged in fire, We are one.
