The Healing Power of Music

I believe that one of the best healing tools in our world is music. I’m a guitar player, and musician and music is the biggest part of my life besides my wife. Music has always been with me, and it’s been something that has helped me through a lot of challenges in my life. I don’t know who I would be if I didn’t have music. Here is why music is so powerful.

Concerts

Think back to the last concert you went to. Can you name another time in your life, when everyone was together enjoying something? You can look out into the sea of fans and see the lights flashing and people having a good time. Some people might be standing up and dancing or holding hands with each other as they enjoy the power of live music.

It’s one of the only times in our lives when we can forget the things that trouble us in the world. There are no politics, no hate, no envy, and no greed when we listen to music. It’s one of the only things that bring us together. Think of some of the great concerts that have taken place in our lifetime. There was Live Aid when musicians got together during a severe famine in Africa to raise money.

Pete Townshend:

We always said we’d never play together again. We always meant it. But it would have been kind of difficult not to get together again for this day. Live Aid

Then there Woodstock is one of the greatest live musical events in human history. The concert shows just how powerful music can be. Everyone together at that giant concert just sharing the love of music and having a good time. When we get together and share music, it’s one of the most powerful things on planet earth. I wish we could channel some of the positive energy that we get from music into our daily lives. I wish that we could use music to change the world.

When we get together to listen to music, there’s always a diverse group of people listening to that music. There’s no politics, and you’re not judging the other people that are there. We are all there at the concert for the exact same thing. We are there to share our love of music. It’s one of the only times we can get together in large groups and not hate each other. What a shame that we can’t do this all of the time.

My Experiences with Music

My best experience with music is not playing music myself but how it moved my mother. When my mother gave birth to my sister, she ended up suffering from clinical depression. Whenever my mom would have an episode of clinical depression, she would go into a catatonic state. This is much like how someone acts when they have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

She would need to go into the hospital to receive treatments to get her out of this catatonic state. She started to suffer from it more often when she got older. Several years ago, it was close to Christmas. My mother ended up suffering from one of these episodes. Our family had to go to the hospital to see her a couple of days before Christmas.

On this one particular day, there were carolers in the hospital singing songs to try and cheer up the patients. For some unexplained reason, my mother got out of her bed. She went to the carolers and started singing the songs. She even started dancing to the music. Up until that point, she had still been in her catatonic state in her bed. While she wasn’t moving around all that much when listening to the music, you could see her lips moving and the fact that she was trying to sing. After the carolers left, she went back to her bed and into the state she was in before. That is the power of music. It can move people in so many ways. On that particular day, it moved my mother.

Woodstock was not about sex, drugs, and rock and roll. It was about spirituality, about love, about sharing, about helping each other, living in peace and harmony.

Music also moves me. Whenever I pick up my guitar, I enter another world. I forget everything that is around me. I forgot all of the hatred, all of the pain, and all of the suffering in this world. I pick up my guitar, and I play. On some days, I can play for several hours and lose track of time. The music moves me. I can feel shivers up and down my spine when I play. I feel that nothing can touch me or hurt me when I am with my guitar. This is the power of music.

Music is there for us when we suffer heartbreak. It’s there for us when we are lonely. There are songs that we cherish for our entire lives. When we hear certain songs, they reflect on stages in our life. Music is very much the soundtrack of our lives.

I wish that we could channel the positivity of music into everything that we do. Music has power, and tt’s something that I can explain. All I know is that when I listen to music, I feel better. Music has healed me, and it can heal you too. It’s one of the most powerful healers on planet Earth.
