The Haunted Chesapeake Bay Bridge

Beware of the bridge

Tyrus and his mother Cherie were about to cross across the long Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Cherie’s blue Pontiac car. and into Delaware to go to Dover Air Force Base. Tyrus had never crossed it before. He was excited to go across the bridge and look all around his surroundings. His mom paid the toll fare needed to continue their journey to Delaware.

‘’We should be at the air force in an hour’’ said Cherie.

‘’That sounds good’’ her son responded.

Cherie pushed on the accelerator. They both could see water all around them as she drove on the road. Tyrus started to get a little antsy with how long the bridge looked. He had never seen any bridge like this one before. As they continue heading towards the heart of the bridge, Tyrus’s nerves increased. He closed his eyes because he started to feel like he was on a long roaster coaster, only around lots of water.

As his mom reached the middle part of the bridge, Tyrus slowly felt himself rising up from his seat. He opened his eyes — and saw his feet lifted from his car floor mat.

‘’Mom! Help…help!’’ he cried out.

Cherie looked in horror to see her son floating out of the car.

‘’Tyrus! Tyrus!’’ she yelled.

She couldn’t pull him down. He kept floating out of the car. He didn’t feel anything going through the car roof. His nerves were in overdrive while he kept rising up in the air. His mom couldn’t pull over because there wasn’t any extra room to stop the car at. She was panicking while trying to figure out what to do next.

Tyrus’s body made it above the tallest part of the bridge. He then found himself being pulled toward the right above an unlimited body of blue water. Several other drivers across the Chesapeake Bridge took notice of this horrifying event & were asking themselves — if what they just saw was real?

Tyrus was having a tough time keeping his heart from beating really fast. He stopped moving & stood still over the Chesapeake Bay. All kinds of thoughts ran threw his mind as he prayed hard for his situation to be a bad nightmare. Tears were flowing from his face, as he could barely contain the emotions he felt being powerless.

‘’I don’t wanna fall & die in the water’’ he said to himself.

“Whatever has me like this, please move me over land,” he pleaded.

After a couple more seconds of being in the air, the force let him go. Tyrus could feel his gravity heading down towards the water below. He closed his eyes crying as he went down. The wind around him made it hard for him to holler. He tried as hard as possible to accept his fate — but to no avail, his fear was too strong to be optimistic in a scary fall.

Cherie was crying out for her son. Tyrus could feel the water closing in on him with his eyes still closed. This was it. He had nightmares about drowning in deep water, he didn’t think those dreams would tell his end.

‘’WHOA, What was that?!?’’ asked a fisherman with a blue cap in a white boat.

‘’It looks like a person’’ his friend replied.

‘’Hey little brother, are you alright? asked another fisherman.

‘’Ow. Ow’’ Tyrus

‘’It’s okay…it’s okay. Take it easy’’

‘’Where did you come from?’’

20 minutes later. A distraught Cherie was at the edge of the Chesapeake Bay near land, with several people (who witnessed her son’s frightening rise from her car) trying to comfort her as best as they can.

‘’Your son’s alive, I can feel it’’, said a younger woman with a South Boston accent. Cherie wanted to believe the woman, but couldn’t muster the strength to be cheerful. She saw a white boat coming towards her. The boat was pushing it with lots of water flying behind it. She looked harder wondering — if Tyrus was on that boat?

‘’Tyrus? Tyrus!’’

Cherie ran to the boat and gave her son a real tight hug and kiss his forehead. They both let the tears fall from their faces. The rugged fishermen were trying to hold back their tears — while feeling prideful that they helped turn a dreadful situation into a bittersweet one.

‘’Thank you, thank you so much’’ Cherie said to the fishermen.

‘’You’re very welcome’’. They responded in unison.

‘’He’s gonna be alright. Thankfully the fall wasn’t as nasty as it could have been.’’

‘’You two take care’’ The lead fisherman said.

‘’You as well’’ responded Cherie with tears still flowing from her eyes.

‘’Mom, I don’t know what happened’’ Tyrus said.

‘’Sheesh, all I know is that you didn’t fall into the Bay, that’s all that matters for now,’’ Cherie told her son.

‘’Now, let’s get out of here’’ Cherie added.

They both walked towards her car, with supporters cheering them on after a traumatic experience.

Tyrus was the seventh person who had the scary experience of being lifted up against their will around the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. However, he’s the first to survive the scary incident. This has been an issue since the first case two years ago. There’s an invisible force around the bridge, but what it is, remains a mystery.
