Self-improvement
The Hardest Thing in Life is Self-Reflection
Holding a mirror to yourself is harder than you can imagine.
Believe me. We all go through tough times but the hardest thing in life is to hold a mirror to yourself and take an honest look inside yourself. Not only will you find much great stuff about yourself in your inner realm, but you will also find hidden drives, motives, fears, anxieties, traits, and evil in the shadows of your inner labyrinth.
Ask the following questions to yourself honestly. Have you got all the answers to them — not only rationally but by your heart too?
Where did you come from, where are you going?
Who are you, and what do you live for?
What are you living for?
What are the things that you do unconditionally?
Do you have an inner balance? How do you establish and maintain it, if you have gotten to that level?
How do you cope with the harsh waters of life?
How do you make the tough decisions?
What are your life mission, values, and code of conduct?
Where do you see yourself in the next 20 years?
What are your dreams in life?
What kind of life would you like to live so that you can leave the world without regret as you take your last breath?
Are you ready to leave your comfort zones bravely to chase your dreams?
Tell me about your top 5 values? Where do they come from?
What is your life purpose? What are you doing to make it real?
How brave are you to face and conquer your fears?
What are your strengths and weaknesses? How do you utilize your strengths to overcome your weaknesses?
What makes you tick ad how do you behave to others that mak you tick?
How do you act fair, nice, and kind even when others do not treat you well?
Can you still be honest and fair even when others are not watching you?
Are you happy? Are you really happy? Is it your heart or your mind that tells you that you are happy?
How do you make others happy?
Do you win alone or with the others?
Who will cry when you die?
How would you like to be remembered when you die?
Questions, questions, questions…
Too many questions, I know. But only through powerful and open-ended questions will you be able to self-reflect and take a look at your inner realm of your true self.
As I had written before, we are born with an immortal soul that incarnates into a body of flesh and bone. We choose a destiny with our spiritual guides in the other world. There is nothing random in life. Everything is by free choice.
Right after the soul incarnates into the body during the pregnancy, the infant is subject to physical, social, cosmic, and spiritual influences that shape her inner realm in light of her chosen destiny.
80% of a child`s personality is shaped in her first 7 years and the personality development continues until the age of 24 according to modern psychology.
That is, we are born unconsciously to the world as a result of a conscious decision (destiny). The essence (the true self/true identity) is veiled by the personality (the false self). The task on Earth is to remember your true self, your true identity, and unveil the light within. This is the true esoteric path taught for thousands of years in the ancient and modern esoteric and mystical schools.
This inner journey in a grand theater of duality is to help the immortal spirit in its spiritual evolution to Oneness — the spiritual path is to rise above the duality in this cosmic plane of existences.
In all ancient and modern schools of inner development (spiritual evolution), the first thing offered to the seeker of wisdom has been the MIRROR. It symbolizes looking inside — the ultimate path to self-reflection and self-observation.
It is the most difficult task for a person to hold a MIRROR to herself in this world. The modern personal development myths of the last 20 years are unfortunately still hovering on the surface of the esoteric tradition.
Ponder this teaching today and try to find the answers to those questions above. If you had done it before, try to understand what your heart is telling you versus your rational mind.
With love,
Kenan
