One of my absolute favorite spots is the Griffith Observatory here in Los Angeles. The views of the city, the nature and the architecture. There is a lot to see and honestly just a wonderful perspective with beautiful viewpoints.

If you are visiting, I would add this spot to your list. There are also hiking spots, and you have great views of the Hollywood sign.

Keep in mind: You will have to pay for parking in most spots. Make sure to read the signs before leaving your car. Also, always be aware of wild animals and respect the area/people around you. Always clean up after yourself.

The images in this article were all taken at sunrise, which is one of my favorite times of the day to visit this place. There’s a nice chill in the air, the sun coming over the mountains and the sound of nature.

Gear

I decided to bring my film camera instead of my digital and I am loving the way these shots turned out.

Film Camera: Canon Rebel 2000 35–80mm lens I can’t remember the film type but it was most likely (this is the one I tend to shoot with most often): FUJICOLOR SUPERIA 400 COLOR

I had my film developed and digitally scanned at Samy’s Camera in Los Angeles. Now I will say, it can get pricey to work with film and getting it processed. Be aware of this and call ahead or do your research so you know what your costs will be at whichever place you decide to work with.

I also did not edit any of the film scans other than changing the file size. The editing program I used was Adobe Lightroom.
