The Great Indian Wedding: Ambani’s Son Got Married

The youngest son of Asia’s richest man, Anant Ambani, tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Radhika Merchant in a lavish ceremony that featured global celebrities, live animals, and a performance by Rihanna.
Yes, just like you I was also shcoked when I read the news of Rihana’s performace in this event.
Anant Ambani, 28, is the son of Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, a Fortune 500 company with businesses ranging from petroleum refining to retail, telecommunications, food, and digital streaming services.
Radhika Merchant, 29, is the daughter of Viren Merchant, another Indian billionaire who runs a pharmaceutical company.
The wedding itself will take place in July 2024, but the pre-wedding festivities kicked off in March 2024 in the family’s refinery township of Jamnagar in the Indian state of Gujarat.
Biggest Personalities Attended the Event:
The three-day bash was attended by nearly 1,200 guests, including some of the biggest names from Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and the entertainment industry.
Some of the notable guests were Bill Gates, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Blackrock co-founder Larry Fink, former Canadian PM Stephen Harper, former Australian PM Kevin Rudd, and Ivanka Trump. Fellow Indian billionaires Gautam Adani and Kumar Mangalam Birla were also there, along with a slate of Indian cricketers and Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
The highlight of the event was a performance by global superstar Rihanna, who came out of retirement for the occasion and reportedly received a hefty payday. The singer entertained the crowd with her chart-topping hits and even posed for pictures with some of the guests.
The event also featured a performance by American illusionist David Blaine, who amazed the audience with his magic tricks.

Guests were also treated to a visit to the Ambanis’ animal rescue center, where they could interact with rescued elephants, giraffes, zebras, and other exotic animals.
The pre-wedding party had a theme of “jungle fever”, and guests were given a nine-page dress code that instructed them to wear outfits inspired by nature and wildlife. The venue was decorated with lush greenery, flowers, and lights to create a tropical atmosphere.
The gala dinner was a feast for the senses, with over 2,500 dishes cooked by a team of 65 chefs. Guests could choose from a variety of cuisines, including Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, Mexican, and Lebanese.
The wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant was one of the most lavish and extravagant weddings ever seen in India. It showcased the wealth and influence of the Ambani family, who are known for their philanthropy and business acumen.
