There Is a Strange Phenomenon in Life. You Will Never Get Happy!
Well happy with what you have, that is. But there is always a desire for something newer, better, untested. Of course, so much better than what you have. You can check out from that shop where you bought your dream TV and you not happy, you saw an even better one.
It is so true in many areas of life, but it doesn’t help you at all. It is doing the exact opposite. It makes you never settle with what you have. I have been there. I was into phones.
I constantly updated to the latest model. Only to see on the latest news coming up. About the next release from some other manufacturer. They just had that function I dreamt of, so I swapped.
But this is a catch-22.
There is always something new available if you pay for it. But do you require it, or will you even use it? For example, I never used all my functions on the mobile, never even tried to.
I give you three areas where I also wanted the things that I currently didn’t have!

After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.
#1 — at Work, You Always Want to Climb Higher
Most people strive to advance in their careers as high as possible. But, of course, because greed is there, you will make so much money. So, not thinking of the extra effort, you have to put that extra effort for a while.
But do you think then, is that extra effort worth the time away from your family and friends, your hobbies? I worked as an expatriate for many years, and yes, I made it high on the ladder. But I also left all my friends and family behind.
Was it worth it?
Well, I gained a lot of experience but was it worth that tradeoff I did. I will never find out as I can’t undo what is done. But, I enjoyed it a lot, and that is what matters for me.
And yes, there was money, but you usually adjust the spending to the income, so that is how it is.
But I always thought of one more location. It will be better and different.
But same shit, different day!
Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.
#2 — Your Material Hunger Will Never Be Satisfied
As with the phone, I never found what I was looking for in one. Simply because I never had any unfulfilled need. How can you be satisfied? There is always something in your mind telling you that it will be better with a new one, the latest model.
It never went any better.
Now I have stopped that, and I use the same phone now as I bought five years ago. And I always try to remove apps, so it is getting even more uncomplicated.
Others I know have the same desire for cars. They save and get a loan at the bank and buy the latest newest one. Then, just taking it out of the dealer, the price has dropped at least 20%.
Sudden loss of a lot of money, that quickly. So then they put a lot of time and effort into that car, keeping it fresh and neglecting their hobbies and friends and family. And in reality, they borrow it from the bank, with interest!
There is always someone that will suffer if you spend your time in other places, but in the end, that one is you!
You will suffer for the lost time with things you care about it.
But that car vanishes in value and glory. So soon, you are looking for an upgrade.
That is another catch-22.
Beware!
A lot of people would say ‘sexy’ is about the body. But to me, ‘sexy’ is a woman with confidence. I admire women who have very little fear.
#3 — the Admiration of A Fantastic Body
Then we have the one that everybody isn’t happy with their own body. There is always some extra fat that looks awful or a biceps that need pumping up. You spend so much time and money, and effort to make it look better.
I spoke with a lady the other day. She was convinced that she could get white skin using lotions. But, like Michael Jackson, used creams?
No, he spent a fortune on operations and suffered severely to get a shade whiter. It was a waste of musical talent like him. I will not comment on the rumors that stroll around about him, as I have no clue or interest in knowing anymore.
But I told her she has a fantastic bronze color. So why do you want to do the opposite of all white women? Spending hours in the sun to get a shade of bronze, and it vanishes in a few days.
Be your self you are sexy like crazy, I said.
Then everyone wants the other body: your neighbor or that lady on the other side of that fence, where it is always greener.
Maybe you better cut your grass and take care of what you have instead. That is far easier to reach than happiness with someone that doesn’t know you at all.
Just stretch out and make some effort, man!
Open your eyes, look within. Are you satisfied with the life you’re living?
That Was, in Short, My Message to You for Tonight!
I have tried and tested all four of these traps. But, I never got even close to any happiness in doing so. I then got a few accidents where I woke up after and was clueless. So I had to start to walk and learn things from the start.
I recall one morning in Sweden. I had a challenging period in Manila before. Just arrived at home in hospital they decided to do a test, cognitive test.
They asked me lots of questions about dates and weekdays. I had no clue what they spoke about it. Blank. Then they swapped to some maths, multiplication, division, but my answers didn’t come.
They did some subtraction and addition using their fingers and mine. I just thought it was funny. I had no clue what they were after.
But I did solve it, it slowly returned, and one year later, I graduated in a newly enrolled university class.
Willpower can change anything!
I know it, so I tell you.
Beware that it can be you in that cognitive test by tomorrow, accidents happen so fast.
So keep well out there and live your life to the utmost every day!
