The Grapes Are Too Sour
A poem on rejections by top publications
Every single day,
A new rejection comes my way.
I keep thinking of what went wrong,
Did I tick them off,
or did I ignore something Strong?
Please tell me
what can I possibly do,
to make you accept me as one of you.
I promise to seep in
like I always belonged,
Just give me one chance
don’t keep it so prolonged.
That day won’t be far when I will start hating your existence.
Even the huge number of followers,
won’t stop my resistance.
So make a note right in this hour,
don’t wait for people to shun you
thinking the grapes are too sour.
