What Does The Phrase “The Good Life” Mean to You?

Does it have a positive or negative connotation in your mind? To me, the good life is just as it sounds- it is easy and carefree. I became a coach to help people get out of autopilot mode, stop living to please others and start living the life they love.

My goal is to awaken, inspire, and empower you to live the good life, whatever that means for you. Success is defined slightly differently by each individual. Still, we can collectively agree it means having good health, not having financial struggles, doing what you are passionate about, and enjoying what you desire.

The Good Life to Me

To me, the good life is defined as waking up with the sun, being well-rested, and being inspired to start my day. It is feeling energetic, healthy, and vibrant. The good life means feeling connected to other like-minded, inspiring people who support my mission in life. It means my children are happy, healthy, and thriving, doing what they desire with their lives.

The good life means spending a couple of hours outside daily, soaking up the sunshine and listening to the birds sing. It might mean floating and relaxing in the pool or a killer hike in the mountains. Nature is a crucial element in the good life.

The good life also means nourishing the body and soul. Feeding myself healthy, organic, local food and providing my mind with kind words, acceptance, love, and forgiveness.

And, a fundamental part of The Good Life to me means helping others and giving back. It means random acts of kindness and lifting the spirits of those around me.

What the Good Life Is Not

The good life is free from gossip and mayhem. It is free from lies and betrayal. The truth sets me free.

The good life is not one where I numb out on drugs, alcohol, shopping, gambling or anything else. It is a life of enjoyment and moderation. Yes, I drink wine with dinner. And with lunch occasionally, but it is done tastefully and paired with food.

The good life is not intended to ever harm others.

Final Thoughts

I have been through hell and back in my life. I have waited patiently. My momma always said good things come to those who wait. Well, Mom, good things come to those who wait, persevere, rise above hardships, know when to battle, and remain classy at all times, no matter what. The real key is never giving up on yourself and your dreams. The naysayers will have you in despair, but believe me, it is possible when you believe and have faith. I am living proof.

It all starts with a very vivid vision of how you define the good life. Visualize it in your mind. See yourself as if you are already there. Picture it in great detail. What is your job? Where do you live? How do you dress? Are you married? Do you have pets? Where do you live geographically? The more detail, the better. Visualizing is the beginning of manifesting the life you love. Then stop caring what other people think of you. Yes!

Some people are jaded and do not believe ‘the good life’ exists, but I am here to tell you it does. You have to work for it and push through the obstacles. But please trust the process. Turn every obstacle into an opportunity and every failure into a lesson, and you will be on your way to all you desire.
