The Golden Circle for Designers
This is the greatest advice from designer to designer, but above it, from human to human. Learn to understand the intentions behind all types of situations.

Does this sound familiar? You are unable to perform a task because you don’t understand it, or you have a bunch of activities to do but you don’t know where to start from; or let me put a simple human example: You overreact to a really basic situation and don’t realize why. 🤷🏻♀️
It all starts with the reasons and intentions behind circumstances, and here’s a fantastic concept that illustrates it: The Golden Circle
The Golden Circle is an innovative tool created by Simon Sinek and shared at a TED Talk. This instrument is one of the most effective strategies that I have used in my career as a UX Designer. It has helped me to understand complex tasks, it has led my design decisions, has helped me read behind my own actions and people’s actions, and also has given me support to discover insights about users, and it even has helped me to collaborate more harmoniously with my teams.
Golden Circle Explained
What’s it about? Easy. Identify the Why, How & What about everything you want to understand or learn about.
✦ All of us know WHAT we do, the type of activities we perform.
This is the OUTCOME of things.
✦ Some others know HOW they perform their tasks and what truly differentiate them from the rest.
This is the PROCESS of things.
✦ Not everyone knows WHY do we do what we do. What’s the purpose of our actions? What’s the intention behind everything we do?
This is the PURPOSE of things.
All that we do must start understanding the intention. 💡

The Power of Connecting
Connection happens when people know your purpose and the reasons why you do things and you know theirs. This concept is really important in UX Management.
Connecting with stakeholders, users, teammates, colleagues to friends, family or any type of relationship, can bring amazing benefits to our daily activities and can even improve our mental health.
According to Mindwise, one study showed that social connection is a greater determinant to health than obesity, smoking, and high blood pressure.
Finding a Purpose
Next time you find yourself in a situation where you need answers, remember about The Golden Circle and the value it creates in people, events, ideas or even organizations!

This is what designers do: Observe, empathize and understand to propose and assess! 🌟
