Most of the Bible sounds like a drunken rant and dare I say, most of it is. But even in drunken rants, you can find truth in fact, there are more truths in drunken rants than in sober conversation because drunkenness removes inhibition! And that is why I take it seriously (the bible, not drunkenness) anyway.

If we are gods, then why do individuals struggle to accomplish anything of note? Why has the 1% stayed the 1% for as long as we can remember? I thought we are gods.

Yes, we are, but as Jay Z says in ‘New York’, “it’s a pity half of y’all won’t make it”. The question is why??

We’ve forgotten

From my standpoint, we are made of God-stuff, but somehow, we have forgotten our origins almost as though our memories were wiped somehow. It kinda feels to me like Captain Marvel. She carried an unstoppable power, but those who sought to control her, only let her in on a little of what she possessed. It was when she found out the truth and removed the 'limiter' they placed on her, that she could use her powers to the full. You get it, right?

What is the God gene?

To answer this, we must ask “what or who is God?”

To many, God is a bearded white man with human emotions and all that. However, we see that the verse said image and likeness. So naturally, there’s some 'God' in all of us.

We may all agree or disagree on who or what God is, but we can agree that ‘God’ is synonymous with ‘creation’. And that brings me to the God gene:

Creative thought

This sits at the center of every endeavour. Creative footballers have given us amazing moves on the pitch. We hear there was one who actually scored a goal by pushing the ball into the opponent’s net using his hand, and he got away with it. It was actually called “the hand of God”.

Creativity is at the very core of the God gene. It is what brings new things into existence. It’s been said times over that He speaks those things that be not as though they are. That means the God gene gives its possessors the ability to peer into the vision of the future and create things previously unseen. Interesting, isn’t it?

So why mediocrity?

When the Anunnaki did what they did, the new versions of humans that were birthed had an upgrade. We were made in the image and likeness of the creators, so we were also given the ability to create. It could be no other way. However, the DNA manipulation program that was carried out wasn’t about turning homo-habilis into creators, it was about turning them into gold miners, so (and this is speaking intuitively), like Captain Marvel, the God gene was suppressed.

Harnessing the God gene

Ancient religions have a story. The characters change every time, but the story is the same. It starts out with a character who tries to pass down the knowledge of the gods to the humans, and it ends with this same character being punished for it. This character has been known by different names such as Prometheus, Atlas, and even the snake in Genesis.

As earlier said, we have forgotten what we can really do and over time, teachers have done their best to remind us. They have shown us the path to unlocking those potentials which can turn us from mere mortals to gods. And here is a summary.

The power to think consciously and creatively is what sets the 1% apart from the others. The norm is for people to react to the external world, but we have been taught that there is a world within. This ‘world within’ is the world of thought, and the results we get from activating the God gene will be in direct proportion to the amount of control we exercise over this world.

This world within is the kingdom of God which is spoken of in many traditions and if you seek first to understand this world, then all other things will be added to you.
