The Glorious Season of Fall
Photographs and thoughts of a season of change

“Autumn whispered to the wind, ‘I fall; but always rise again.’“ — Angie Weiland-Crosby
I know many dislike the season of fall because it declares the end of summer. But those knowing how to seek and find beauty in life truly cherish this special season.
Because there is more to life than just blue skies and sunshine. Remember, only sunshine creates a desert. You need all those other parts of the weather to get a season-changing climate.
And just think of the harvest season. There is so much color in all those berries. Some are edible, some are not. But all of them are pretty to look at.

Nature has got a place for every individual. It doesn’t matter how much you stand out. It doesn’t matter how different you are. Nature hosts everyone and everything.
Like these green shining leaves amidst all the dark red leaves of this Japanese Maple tree.

Color is back in fashion I’ve heard. But color in nature has never been out of fashion. Leaves carrying red and green at the same time are a true beauty. Two colors that wouldn’t go together on the catwalk.
I found these flowers in this vintage-style watering can. Loved the combination and had to snap a shot when I spotted the bird next to it. I had to think of Dennett and all the birds she always gets to capture. I had it easier since this one didn’t seem to fly away…

One thing I will never get tired of is shooting plants, flowers, trees, and bushes growing out of the smallest cracks in rocks, walls, and tarred roads. Those are real survivors. They demonstrate strength, dedication, and willpower.
If you want to achieve something and work hard enough, you’ll get it.

“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” — Lauren DeStefano
And because I’ve taken photographs of and in fall almost daily I’ve got some more pictures to share with you.
More floral beauty

This wasn’t my first and surely won’t be my last post of this very special season. It was just a bite for in between. And remember to embrace every bit of this special time in the year. Within a blink of an eye, it’ll all be over and covered in a white blanket (I hope so at least, I’m looking forward to a decent winter with lots of snow).
“Autumn, the year’s last, loveliest smile.” — William Cullen Bryant
