The Gerson Miracle —
This is a Cross Between A Poem and An Article

For years, I have shared this information. The first section below is a description of a documentary I happened across one day in 2007. I don’t remember the circumstances of how I found it, but the information was life altering. It must be shared.
The second portion comes directly from the documentary. I believe it is the last four minutes and I have adapted these words in several speeches I have given over the years. I think you will find truth in the words as well.
The Gerson Miracle introduces Dr. Max Gerson who developed The Gerson Therapy more than 80 years ago. A proven remedy for cancer and most chronic and degenerative diseases, The Gerson Therapy employs a diet and de-codification regimen to rebuild the immune system and restore the body’s own ability to heal itself. Nine former patients talk about their successful recoveries from deadly cancers. Dr. Gerson’s daughter, Charlotte, discusses opposition from the medical and pharmaceutical industries and why they fear an all-natural therapy that allows people to take control of their own health.
The last four minutes of the documents ends with the following realization that is applicable to practically every one in every aspect of life. I use this in very selected speeches; modified, of course. When you read the below text, use your best James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman voice. And the pacing is critical in order to truly get the passion with which the below has been recited.
“For each of us eventually, whether we are ready or not, some day, it will come to an end. There will be no more sunrises — no minutes, hours or days. All the things you collected, either treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.
“Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or owed. Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
“So too your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will all expire. The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away. It won’t matter where you came from or on what side of the tracks you used to live at in the end. Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

“So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?
“What will matter is not what you brought but what you built. Not what you got, but what you gave. What will matter is not what you learnt but what you taught. What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.
“What will matter is not your competence, but your character. What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you are gone. What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved you. What will matter is how long you will be remembered — by who and for what.
“A life lived significantly is not one of circumstance as much as it is of unfailing dedication of choice.”
I want to ensure that full attribution is given to Gerson because this man’s work could have touched so many more lives. Please find the documentary and learn for yourself. There is no affiliate link and I receive nothing from you seeking out the documentary and watching it. For you only have knowledge to gain.
Thank you.
