You’d barely thrown out your jack o’ lantern when new Hallmark Christmas movies began to air. If you aren’t already filled with the holiday spirit, the Hallmark Channel is bound and determined to get you there.

If you’re absolutely positive that you’ll never be filled with that much holiday cheer, just know that nearly every other main character of a Hallmark Christmas movie felt the same way before they saw the sparkly holiday light. Spoiler alert! Of course, maybe you’ll be able to resist the delight of a line-up of holiday films that lean toward the light, happy, and warm-hearted.

But if you’re one of the ones who can’t resist a good Hallmark movie, you’ve come to the right place.

For many of us, watching Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas is as essential to Christmas as putting up a tree. But what if there was a way to add a little flair to this special holiday tradition? This is where a viewing party and games can come into play.

First off, if you’re going to have a Christmas movie viewing party, it’s almost essential that you wear an ugly Christmas sweater.

In fact, for added festive fun, have a contest with a prize for the ugliest holiday sweater worn by a guest. A gag gift or simple holiday treat could be the prize, and no ugly sweater party would be complete without the mandatory party selfie.

That takes care of what to wear to the party, and holiday eats and treats can take care of what guests can consume. No extra decoration is needed because anyone who’s hosting a Hallmark-themed Christmas party will likely have had their holiday decorations up earlier than anyone else in the neighborhood. So, all that’s needed is a way to put a little fun spin on actually watching the movies.

Party games, anyone?

Just to prove that I’m a true card-carrying Hallmark Channel movie fan, I can pull out my laminated BINGO cards that I use for the holiday season. To be fair, I don’t actually carry these cards anywhere, but I certainly keep them by my side while I binge watch holiday movies.

If you want to spice up your holiday season, adding Hallmark Christmas movie Bingo to the list could certainly make it fun.

While I had relied on Pinterest and bloggers for mine, the Hallmark Channel came out with their own — available to buy or as a free download as a part of their Countdown to Christmas.

But holiday Bingo isn’t the only game out there to use during the holiday season.

Country Living shared reader Brittany Graves’ drinking game that she uses during the holiday season while watching Hallmark movies.

Light-weights might want to steer clear of this holiday tradition, however. Just looking at the game could leave you feeling a little hungover, but it also looks like a pretty good time.

And speaking of light-weights, or even heavy ones for that matter, there’s a healthier holiday tradition out there for fans of fitness.

If you want to get a start on health-related New Year’s resolutions, there’s a fitness game you can play along to these holiday films.

In fact, after viewing the list and recalling every Hallmark Christmas movie in the history of ever, I’ve decided you might meet all your fitness goals by doing this during one film. Better stretch first and have plenty of water on hand.

Watching Hallmark Christmas movies is one of my favorite holiday traditions. While I don’t tend to watch them all, I certainly watch most of them — zeroing in on the actors I favor and the plots that snag my interest. It doesn’t matter if I’ve seen the same basic movie a hundred times. I’ll still return for the heart-warming stories, likable characters, and strong serving of holiday cheer.

But if I want to spice up my normal viewing, I can host a viewing party or choose any one of these games to give my personal holiday tradition a little added Christmas sparkle. And anyone who doesn’t love Christmas sparkle almost certainly will by the time the first movie is over. But don’t take my word for it; go watch and find out for yourself.
