Established in 2014, The Game Awards is an annual event that celebrates various achievements in the video game industry. This year's event will be on the 9th of December.

Interestingly this year, The Game Awards is collaborating with Discord to make voting and viewing a lot more convenient and easier. They announced this collaboration in the following tweet.

According to this tweet, fans will be able to vote for nominated categories via The Game Awards Discord server. This makes the process a lot easier since most gamers are already very familiar with the Discord user interface.

Although the best part is that fans can watch The Game Awards together utilizing Discords ‘Watch Together’ feature. Here’s a brief explanation of Watch Together, highlighted on the Discord FAQs.

“Watch Together is a collaborative way to watch YouTube videos with others. In Watch Together, everyone can participate in building a playlist of videos. Watch Together will handle the video syncing for you — no counting down to pressing play!”
