The Game Awards, Baldur’s Gate 3; Game Of The Year!
A well deserved award to be sure!
As far back as I can remember, the Game Awards were among the most significant events in all gaming existence, and it’s like the Best in Show of Video Games. I never had a chance to be at the event, but I got inspired to try to make the next one, which will happen next year.
I did, however, get to see the game awards on television, and I want it to go on the record that it was so electric; it made me wish I were there in person. Furthermore, I can only imagine those tickets and travel prices. But I digress.
So when I was watching it, I saw the games that got nominated and that Tears of the Kingdom was nominated. I was like, “What the fuck?!!! Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom shouldn’t have been a contender in the first place”. But that piece of shit was.
After watching a bit longer, I noticed that Tears of the Kingdom was NOT the winner nor took home the gold, which was good because that game was crap. I told myself, “if Tears of the Kingdom gets Game of the Year, I’m done watching this!”
Further, “I don’t understand why that game was even nominated; it didn’t even get DLC, which is usually saved for the great games, which Tears wasn’t.” So after blowing fire about that for several minutes, a winner was announced.
Baldur’s Gate 3, is a game worthy of Game of the Year. I’ve never played the game, but I’ve seen trailers and videos and heard good things. While I’m not into games' multiplayer situations, Baldur’s Gate 3 was pretty interesting. I have a friend who's into that type of game, so he’s jamming.
Spiderman 2 was also a very worthy candidate. It was a fantastic game, and even though I haven’t picked up my copy yet, I’ve seen walkthroughs. The game is fuckin’ marvelous!
You know, ever since I’ve been trying to go to the TORG gaming expo, it’s made me want to try for other gaming events as well, you know, really try to get my name out there.
But you know what? I also realized that sometimes making a name for yourself isn’t always necessary or worth it at the time. But I guess there's really no love lost if I can’t make these events; it’s enough for me to be able to watch them safely at home.
Related point: sometimes, having a family can be hard when trying to do things that are uniquely yours. However, I learned that family is great, but you still need time to do it.
My parents always taught me that. As long as your family eats, has electricity, and clothes on their back, you’re free to do what you will. As always, my house comes first. Always.
Anyway, the game awards were a big hit, and again, I’m glad Tears didn’t get it because that game was all over the place if I’m being honest. Incidentally, I hope the following Legend of Zelda game is similar or an almost carbon copy of Breath of the Wild. That game was a fuckin’ masterpiece.
