The Fourth Trimester
That moment when life changed forever
It was 10 pm on Monday night, My wife had to push with all her might; Our little boy came out that day, For a moment I didn’t know what to say.
He was very small and had lots of hair, A sweet, chubby face that made us stare, Binu and I were oh so proud, Of this little one who kept crying aloud.
His favorite place is in the bathtub, Where he enjoys a good back rub; He loves to feed and feed and feed, So we wait patiently with a book to read.
When we see him asleep we feel blessed, And Binu and I can finally eat and rest; We have lost track of day and night, As midnight is when our son is bright.
We often think of our own childhood, When our parents sacrificed sleep and food; And when I look at him, tears start to well, God’s fine masterpiece, every single cell!
