The Forgiving Tree
There is a tree found yon That aches with heavy thoughts. Each branch bears more memories Heavier than any torment below. By day it listens and nourishes Life With a leaf for letting go. Come night it rests silently Lest the wind blows And sheds its mighty burdens Like a freshly fallen snow. Call it the Tree of Wisdom Or speak to the Tree of Life, It goes by a name less colloquial For it is the Forgiving Tree.
