The Final Frontier
A Short Poem. A poem about humanities need for exploration

The Final Frontier
Aching hearts, we long to be free, To explore the cosmos, the final frontier to see, Our hunger for adventure, for the unknown, Pushes us forward, to make space our home.
We dream of the stars, we reach for the sky, Our restless souls refuse to die, The final frontier, the future we see, A cosmic playground, for you and me.
We dream of cities, on distant shores, A new civilization, a world to explore, The universe is vast, but we will not yield, Our thirst for knowledge, our destiny sealed.
We dream of the stars, we reach for the sky, Our restless souls refuse to die, The final frontier, the future we see, A cosmic playground, for you and me.
From Earth we soar, into the great unknown, The universe beckons, we follow where it’s shown, New worlds, new possibilities to find, A future of wonder, for all of mankind.
We dream of the stars, we reach for the sky, Our restless souls refuse to die, The final frontier, the future we see, A cosmic playground, for you and me.
Our dreams will take us, to the edge of time, To explore the cosmos, to make it all mine, The human spirit, forever will shine, As we journey forth, to the final frontier sublime.
Authors Notes:
As far back as I can remember I can recall one consistent feeling. Wonder. I would always look up to the skies whether it be day or night. I remember being Four, maybe Five years old trying to ascertain how the moon and sun worked absolutely bewildered by these larger than life, celestial objects which governed our lives.
Some twenty years on I have a greater understanding of these mechanics of reality however, my wonder is still childlike, and the universe still bewilders me. I am still filled with hope and optimism for what humanities future holds. Humanity’s destiny lies amongst the stars. The stars will be filled with so much life. Human life. No longer shall our destiny to scrabble around in the dirt which spawned life as we know it.
I spend a lot time in melancholy and dips however, no matter how far down I am I look up to the stars and their majesty, it all dissipates. All I ask of anyone is to look up at the stars every now and then. I ask you wonder what it will look like when humanity is clinging to every ball of rock. The happiness, laughter. The sorrow, misery and everything in-between. The things that really make us human.
