The Art of Gratitude in Everyday Life
Easy Ways to Practice Gratitude Daily

Have you ever woken up in the morning flooded with a feeling of gratitude, and joy that another day has come in which you can see the sunlight and enjoy the little things? Or thanking God for everything you have?
Gratitude is a deep-rooted feeling in the human soul, an emotion that connects us with others and the world around us; it reminds us of the small details that we often forget or to which we don’t pay attention. And without emotions we would no longer feel humans. In these times, when we are all rushing somewhere or towards something, we also need emotions. Let’s stop for a while and let go of the rush, let’s think about everything that surrounds us, what pleases us and makes us happy, brings us relief.
These small seemingly insignificant details, like a warm smile from a stranger, the aroma of coffee in the morning, a good book, or even the sound of rain, are moments that bring color and meaning to our lives. Can you live only in white and gray? Guess not. You need some color in your life. Money or other material objects don’t matter that much, as they bring only temporary joy. We are excessively focused on wealth and strongly connected to physical possessions that do not hold the sentimental value we believe they do and that’s so wrong for us to do.
Gratitude for the little details helps us focus on what matters. It helps us see the beauty in simple things and appreciate the present. Instead of focusing on what we don’t have, gratitude turns our attention to the abundance that already exists in our lives. Enjoying the little things is a real privilege. Seeing the bright side of life is a choice; it only depends on ourselves and the way we perceive life. A very positive outlook doesn’t mean bad luck as many of us believe.
Myth or not: Limiting beliefs make us consider that everything that is too beautiful can be followed by a less pleasant episode or event in our life, but this only happens when we only look ahead and do not look in all possible directions.
Practicing gratitude can be simple. Start each day with a thought of gratitude. Be thankful for a new day, for the people in your life, for your health, for a warm meal, or for a warm smile. Doesn’t have to be something material, but the material can be fulfilling too sometimes. But remember this is only temporary.
Finally, being grateful can help you heal. It can help you heal wounds, traumas, and uncertainties.
