This is How Our Brain Waves Impact our Conditioning

Did you know this about childhood brain waves?

Childhood conditioning is an inescapable part of the human experience.

As we age and develop a wider perspective of life, our deep conditioning starts to present itself when our habits and ways of doing things no longer work, feel good, or help us grow.

When conditioning starts to break, it can feel as though we have been looking through extremely dirty glasses — glasses we didn’t know we were allowed to clean, fix, or ditch altogether.

It can feel scary, confusing, and like we don’t quite know who we are, because, well, on a level we don’t — we know the person we have been trained and “brought up” to be. It’s a version of ourselves.

How does conditioning become so deeply embedded? What are the factors of this? Brain waves have a lot to do with it.

The following information was taken from an Abundance Webinar in 2018 presented by Hay House with book author and psychologist, Tara Brach.

Delta, Theta, and Beta Brainwaves

From birth through age 7, our brain is operating in a different, slower frequency.

During this time in our development, the brain is primarily in Delta (0–4 cycles per second) and Theta (4–8 cycles per second) frequencies — the same frequencies when we are in deep REM sleep, under hypnosis, or in a lucid dreaming state.

Everything that happens during these years is taken in by the subconscious mind and leaves deep impressions. This is why children absorb information so well, quickly and easily.

Around 8 years of age, the frequencies increase to Beta brainwaves, which operate at 8–12 cycles per second.

This is when our analytical, critical, and conscious thinking comes into play and starts to develop — overlaid on top of anything that was learned by the subconscious mind up to 7 years old — including any trauma.

Beta brainwaves process sensory data and attempt to create an understanding of the inner and outer worlds.

Another thing to understand is that the subconscious mind has no sense of humor. It hears what it hears and interprets that as truth. That truth becomes our “baseline” in the mind of what is dangerous and what is not. This is the place we will live from, decide from, and choose our relationships from.

This is why it is so important to know what your subconscious mind believes because it is running the show.

Our conscious mind/awareness is only in control about 5% of the time.

Everything else we are doing, saying, repeating, choosing, and projecting is coming from the subconscious beliefs formed in childhood, specifically from ages 0–7 years old.

Isn’t that good to know? Understanding how this works is a powerful tool to dismantle and question why we do certain things and why parts of our lives may not be going well or feel great.

Look back and ask who and what you were around during those years. What were they saying, believing, asking, questioning, devaluing, choosing, repeating, making, doing, etc? Notice how this was passed on to you — even if it doesn’t feel good now.

You can choose again and again, and again.

The power is now in your hands.
