Summary

The web content titled "Poemorama at Paper Poetry" is a reflective and poetic narrative that uses the metaphor of feathers to explore the human experience of life, choices, and the pursuit of happiness.

Abstract

The narrative "The Feather Chooses To Fly" is a contemplative piece that draws parallels between human life and feathers. It emphasizes that, like feathers, we are all journeying through life, often forgetting the beauty of the present moment and the power we hold within us. The author encourages embracing the moment, recognizing the strength of our wings, and finding joy in the here and now. The poem suggests that we should not wait for happiness in the future or become preoccupied with the distractions of life, but rather choose to soar, perch, dance, seek, walk, sing, work, dive, and love with abandon, embracing the fullness of life's experiences. The feather, as a symbol, represents the potential within each individual to rise above circumstances, to be resilient, and to ultimately land with gratitude, having been shaped by life's journey.

The Feather Chooses To Fly

Hopeful. Coloured. Balanced.

A Feather that chooses to Fly. Artwork in ink by the author.

We are all feathers

Flying in the space of our entangled thoughts Journeying through the kilometers of our uncontrolled imagination Gliding through the echoes of the clamorous past Flapping fiercely towards the security of the future

Forgetting the beauty of this moment Ignoring the power of the wings Shedding the joys of here and now

We feathered beings that somehow choose to fly

Soaring yet tending to find happiness in the destination Perching yet fraught with doubts in our eyes Dancing yet consumed by the applause Seeking yet busy in the excuses of the everyday Walking yet finding the bench with the perfect view Singing yet never truly listening to the silent words Working yet waiting for the time to begin creating dreams Diving yet struggling to keep the little things of life afloat Witnessing yet strained by the burdens of the worldly visions Loving yet keeping the ‘I’ between the two

Forget the flight Ignore the height Shed the burden

We feathered beings must choose to fly

Soar in the seven clouds that change, to keep you peregrinating Perch on the twigs delicate that break, to help you transcend the barriers Dance to the rhythmic heartbeat that circles, to show you the flow of energy Seek the little joys that live everywhere, to bring you a deep quietude Walk on the dew of the grass that is wild, to take the steps of awareness inside Sing to the wind that is all consuming, to create your own lyrics and song Work to the pace of a being that desires, to keep the flame of passion burning Dive into the gaping abyss that brings fear, to rid yourself of the bondage Love like there is no other that is separate, to move into the abstract metaphors of the divine

Be blown with the winds of time Travelling far and wide, Ruffled, scarred, pained, Landing as an emblem of gratitude.

We are feathers dipped in the colours of hope… We are patterns forever in the making… We are the wings of balance between love and surrender…
