The Fat Acceptance Movement is killing People
Being fat is neither healthy nor cool
Obesity is a huge problem in our society.
A study by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) found that currently about 40 percent of women, 35 percent of men, and 17 percent of children and adolescents in the U.S. are obese.
Shocking numbers, I think.
More people than ever before are overweight, resulting in fatal health problems.
No Fat-Shaming!
Please do not misunderstand this article. Fat-shaming should stop. The obesity of others should be accepted in any case. No one is worth less just because they are fat. The only discrimination, if you will, that I can see in myself is that I find fat women very unattractive. But I can’t do anything about that. Like most men, it is in my DNA to like healthy and fit-looking women.
But I can not understand why you should accept your own obesity or even be proud of it Every movement in everyday life is very difficult, you are unattractive for most of the opposite sex and the health risks are enormous. Why should one be proud of this?
Accepting the facts
I have a feeling that this article will cause some controversy. No, this is not fat-shaming. It’s scientific facts. Perhaps one of the big problems with our society is that facts often offend people.
No matter how politically correct we want to be. The facts remain the facts and being fat is unhealthy. Sorry, but we can’t negotiate with nature. No matter how the facts make you feel.
Obesity can promote various diseases. These include:
- Type 2 diabetes
- High blood pressure
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Cardiovascular disease
- Osteoarthritis
- Sleep apnea (breathing pauses at night)
- fatty liver, gallstones
- certain types of cancer
Of course, there are diseases that cause obesity.
But in most cases, exercise and a healthier diet would help tremendously. Why not promote that instead of teaching that you can be proud of being fat?
