The Family Reached Out For Help Before Their Deaths
They sent a text message and phone calls
Yosemite was near the place where they died
A California couple and their one year old baby met their deaths on a hiking trail in Yosemite in the summer of 2021. They died of hyperthermia, and they were likely dehydrated.
They were alone, and it was puzzling why they passed away while hiking. A witness had seen them arrive in the area, and he later saw their truck parked without any people nearby.
There has been an extensive investigation by local authorities and the FBI since they died. Now there are some discoveries of their final hours upon the earth.
Alisha Ebrahimji of CNN reported: “California family hiking deaths: An unsent text message and desperate phone calls detail family last moments.”
Family selfies, nature photos, an unanswered text and several calls that were never connected detail the final hours of a California couple and their child before they died on a hiking trail near Yosemite last August.
The cell phone allowed the Sheriff’s office to learn from data so they were able to retrace the last steps of the family. The couple had asked for help, but the call was not received since there was no cell service in the area. He tried calling multiple numbers.
The text message read: “Can you help us. On savage lundy trail heading back to Hites cove trail. No water or ver (over) heating with baby.”
The bodies were discovered later after the family was reported missing.
Cell phones are amazing pieces of technology. They often save lives and are used in many investigations. Sometimes they are not able to save people when they are in an area where there is no cell service.
