The Fall in All Its Splendor

As we enter the best part of the fall, which is when trees get their best colors but they still wear their leaves, I needed to share with you these landscapes.

I shot these photos all around the forest that’s between the town of Saint Sulpice and the city of Lausanne, in Switzerland. The lake you see is Lake Geneva, or Lac Leman for the locals, of which you can know more here:

The evening bathed the area with perfect lighting for these shots. The lake looked grey due to the clouds, which you see covering the Alps at the far right. But some sun rays could directly hit this shore of the lake, illuminating the trees:

As I describe in the story linked above, this shore of the lake has some wonderful sandy beaches. To me, among the best in the country:

A small river gently ends up its journey into the lake around here, painting very quiet scenes:

Open spaces full of deep green grass (even in the summer and winter times) get perfectly decorated by autumnal colors of the forest that begins behind:

That same forest serves as a colorful fence to this soccer field:
