I love your eyes, he wanted her to know Sincere with no fluff, no turning of phrase No mincing of words, per the status quo Not lyrist, nor swan — no lengthy essays Sans thesis, or theme, or bioassays Seductive, tempting, or hypnotizing Inviting, enthralling — so captivates him? The poet in her sought words to express While trying to hide her cachinnating Decided ’twas best to just acquiesce.

Author’s Note:

I took to attempting these uncommon forms like a duck to water. I never knew this side of poetry writing. It is exuberating and challenging — like a giant jigsaw puzzle; and when I get it figured out and the form is correct, I feel like I won a grand prize.

The first one I wrote came as an invitation from Dr. Amy Pierovich and then a few from Marcus and from Venkataraman Mahalingam. I even got a prompt from Patrick M. Ohana, for a mantinada. There are tons more to try. Many I have been too intimidated to attempt.

I am thankful to everyone for involving me in this fun game. I love fun!
