The Essence of Life

For me, imagination is life and life loses its essence without imagination.

I remember myself as a child with a very strong imagination. I used to make up stories of imaginary creatures outside my bedroom window I would tell the stories to my little cousins and they enjoyed listening to my imaginary creations for hours. But due to my vivid imagination, at night I used to get scared of my own made-up stories.

Emotions and Imagination

Imagination plays a vital role in our lives. All our emotions involve imagination. We feel empathetic towards others only by imagining being in their shoes. Feeling some one’s pain is only possible by picturing what they might be feeling.

What you imagine in your mind awakens associated feelings and emotions, and together, they affect your life and make things happen.~ Remez Sasson

From the most crucial concepts in life to the very minor ones involve imagination. Our understanding of Our God is only due to our power of imagination, understanding that this beautiful world cannot be a consequence of chance. It was created by Creator for His creations. We Imagine that He loves us, we keep going because He is looking out for us.

A Child’s Imagination

“Children see magic because they look for it.” ~ Christopher Moore

Children are known for their creative imagination. Simple role play games to mathematical problem-solving everything involves imagination.

Just yesterday when my six-year-old was doing his math problem he had to imagine Sam with 10 apples and when two were eaten we had to figure out how many were left.

With English and descriptive writing, it is a similar case he has a picture in front of him and he has to explain the picture using his imagination.

Thus for a child from play to studies, everything involves visualization and creativity which are just segments of imagination.

Imagination as an adult

As adults, we imagine more often than we think we do. If we have an important interview, we imagine it and act it out a hundred times before the actual thing.

Accepting a proposal, we imagine the consequences and the factors associated with it before reaching any final decisions.

Our lives are full of imagination from planning a holiday to thinking of a career change.

A pregnant woman has the strength to carry on for 9 months only by imagining her unborn child.

We survive hard times by imagining better situations and hoping for change.

“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” ~ Albert Einstein

A story of imagination

I remember a story I was told as a child. In that story, there were two friends who were old and they used to share a room in an old home. One of the two friends was blind. Each day the friend with good eyesight would tell his blind friend about the beautiful scenery outside their room. The beautiful garden he could see was full of colorful flowers and beautiful trees. Far away he could see kids playing. The sun was always shining bright. Every day the blind man would look forward to the beautiful description of his friend. One day when the blind man woke up he was informed that his friend had died in sleep. This made the blind man very sad. A few days later he asked one of the cleaners to tell him what he saw outside the window. The cleaner told him he could see nothing but a plain wall of the adjoining building. Thus the blind man figured out, the beautiful sceneries were just fragments of his friend's beautiful imagination skills which kept them both happy for several years.

Positive and guided imagination

Thus I would like to conclude that having strong imagination skills is vital but it is more important to be in control of your imagination. If we keep imagining negative thoughts, it will make our lives miserable. Sometimes we imagine too much about what others might think of us, this sort of thinking should not be encouraged

Rehearsing in your mind the feelings and emotions connected success, can move invisible forces, and create visible success in your life.

These feelings generate pressure on your subconscious mind and on the Universe, causing them to act on your behalf, and to create opportunities and open doors to make what you dream and imagine come true. Thoughts associated with such feelings gain power and can make things happen.
